Orpahaned when only six months old, Betty Jones, in her early twenties, is recruited by an English Lord to be his wife's personal secretary. Soon after arriving in England, she is accused of murdering the Lady.
She finds ways to overcome her difficulties, gets the better of her tormenter, and finally discovers a set of grandparents and family in Arizona and California.
