  • Two teenage boys from America's heartland decide to hitchhike to California during the heyday of the anti-Vietnam War counterculture.  They are on a quest to experience the essence of the hippie phenomenon they have embraced as their identity.
  • This story is a brief snapshot of history as seen by two young travelers who are learning about themselves, while finding out how they are perceived through some harsh realities on the road.
It is a sequence of events that illustrate the unbridled energy and adventurous enthusiasm of becoming an adult, along with the distasteful and morose realities from which life's lessons are all too often learned from.
  • Humor and love are blended with fear and hatred in this timeless tale of coming of age.
Based on a true story it reflects the attitudes of the times and how people were strongly, and sometimes violently divided due to the Vietnam War.  The country's coming of age and loss of innocence mirrors the adventure which transforms these young boys into men.
