Two young boys, good friends, raised by a tribe of secretive warrior women over 2,500 years ago in the forested mountains of ancient Greece... the high-spirited Andod and his cautious friend Steo don’t appreciate it at the time, but they are being trained to survive.
They can use weapons to defend themselves, track and find their own food, and can even weave their own cloth. But there’s not much room for fun in their hard lives, and their escapades are a cause of constant exasperation for the tribal leader.
When, at last, it’s time for the boys to take leave of the warriors who have protected them through their childhood, they finally find out why they were so well trained. Facing separation, slavery and a world on the brink of war, they must tackle the future with the courage to survive...
