A church member is asked a series of increasingly odd questions when being interviewed for a position as a deacon.
Sample:

Pastor: First question. Have you ever eaten an umbrella?
Member: Have I what?
Pastor: Eaten an umbrella? Either you have or you haven’t.
Member: Why would I eat an umbrella?
Pastor: I don’t know what motivates some people to do what they do.
Member: And why would you even ask that?
Pastor: I’d think it’s rather obvious.
Member: What does having eaten an umbrella have to do with being a deacon?
