This pseudo—autobiographic novel describes how Allen Flint Childress a half Cherokee “country boy” born in 1967, climbs the educational-cultural ladder from the arid red clay hills of Louisiana arid then on to Ivy League universities and Hospitals in New York. There, he became a neurology resident physician at Bellevue Hospital and was embroiled in a biter medical conflict with a senior Professor of Neurology that brought the young trainee to the brink of disaster. How could this age-old conflict between a “country boy” and a “city slicker” ever be resolved?
